Saturday School Foundation

Stepping into 7 years of Saturday School:
In 2020, Saturday School Foundation has been supported and cooperated by the government, private, and international organizations for making differences to Thai education. We all have the same intention which aims to see the relentless development of Thai education.

Saturday School Foundation is an educational non-profit foundation who creates a learning space that allows everyone to participate in the development of Thai education. With the belief that everyone in society can be the one who makes a difference of Thai education by encouraging children to dare to follow their dreams, to perfectly develop their potential and to become a person who can make a difference in their community and society.

Starting the year with “Big Day”–the day giving students exhibit their talents–from these 2 projects.

Saturday School Season 8.5

Because “learning is not only in the classroom,”  so learning from activities ,which are improving life skills and  21st-century skills to make Thai children grow up strongly, is important. Volunteer teachers collaboratively designed the learning activities with Activity-Based Learning. Therefore, season 8.5 was not limited to learning only in the classroom by the concepts of “Everything is learning” and “Everything is possible

Google Form

Saturday School

From Home

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, normal on-site classes were no longer possible. However, the volunteers in the 4.0 generation were not worried because of the skills and expertise in using online tools that they have. So, the volunteers can pass on these skills to the teacher in the school system who is interested in making an online classroom and be able to adapt these skills on the application for education such as Google Meet, Zoom, Google Sheet, Google Slide, or Google Form.

Generation Unlimited Season 2.0

Generation Unlimited Season 2.0 focused on giving opportunities to youths in provinces with unrest–Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, and Songkhla. We brainstormed with the children in this project about 3 problems which they had encountered: receiving education continuously (both traditional and non-formal education), developing skills and knowledge which are essential for getting a job and being an active citizen in the future, and opening spaces to empower children, especially girls.

  • 3 months period
  • (Jun – Aug 2020)
  • at Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, and Songkhla.
  • cooperated with: UNICEF, UNDP

Social Change Leader Incubation Program

Season 9 eco

“The novel, eco-friendly classroom” was initiated by our environmentally-conscious volunteers who planned to help our students develop essential skills in becoming global citizens and make our society more sustainable.

Season 9 eco used Project-Based Learning, which allowed students to gain real experiences from understanding problems and designing solutions based on the design thinking method. We also emphasized the use of 21st-century skills including collaboration, communication, and creativity.

Different from previous seasons, Season 9 eco added a challenge for students and volunteer teachers to design a project for the community while improving their environmental awareness.

Success Stories

Saturday School has been growing for 6 years. There are many volunteers who joined us to develop Thai education together even in a student-based, staff, and volunteer teachers up to 9,000 people. So, let’s hear about some of their experiences with joining the Saturday School 😀
