The Future of Our Education is in Your Hands
Classes and subjects outside of school books which will encourage students to unlock their abilities, discover true potential and dare to find and pursue their dreams, while opening up more possibilities for endless self-development and being able to make a difference in their society. Students are supervised by volunteers who specialise in various fields, who will advise and support the students through the 10-week Saturday classes. The last Saturday is the show day, “Big Day,” where students exhibit what they have learned to the public.
I started working with Saturday School as a teacher volunteer. I was impressed from the very first day that I was introduced to the project during the interview: the staffs are so full of positive energy and great, creative activities. It becomes especially clear when I met the students that what this project is doing has long-term effect on them. At first, my intention was just to become a better teacher, but I realised that I have also become a better person. I used to wish that the society was better, but here, I am directly taking part in making the society better.

“The usually-normal Saturday has become a heart-fulfilling day. Even if I’m exhausted, I feel really good”
